The Whiteshell
We didn't play video games the whole time
All fun and games until someone gets tangled up
The store at the Whiteshell
The troop gathered to send us off. Some not so willingly
I found a few rocks that I like...
I tried to load them on the bike but none of them fit. I will have to see if I can find some rocks a little bit smaller. (BTW these are all rocks from my Auntie ingrid's yard)
We can't just read ZMM, we have to do some kind of maintenance
The plastic hinges on my hard bags had worn out
I needed a good place with a selection of tools. Here is Dave's shop in the whiteshell. You need a well tooled shop when you live 150 km from the nearest hardware store.
If at first you don't succeed use a bigger hammer and a piece of wood for backing.

How to select the best path
First you need to follow the path that others thought was a good one
Then you need a trusty map and journal
and then you need to decide on a direction.

Sturgis
Apparently it is all about the motorcycles in this town
Yes you do read that correctly. I am roasting my chicken just looking at the temp
If you don't own a motorcycle you strap the biggest engine to a pick up box and take it for a toot.
Apparently everyone is riding their bikes today, a local shot of the library.

Staying hydrated in the hot weather
Of course you do know that milk doesn't quench thirst brent?
We have to always finish our liquids off after the end of the day. One could imagine what this would look/taste like after spending the day on the bike at over 90 degrees
River took a more direct approach.
Camping in South Dakota
This is Oahe Lake or the Missori River before they dammed it.
After hitting 96 degrees we had to find a campsite with water. Both River and I spent a couple of hours chilaxing after a long day on the bike
The last 2 nights we have left the fly off the tent. It is much cooler and we can see the stars as we fall asleep (which takes about 30 seconds)
